a little about me…
My mission is to show women how magical, beautiful and powerful they are, particularly whilst on the life-changing journey of pregnancy and motherhood.
I am a mother to three young children and have lived experience of traversing the rite of passage from maiden to mother using yoga, self-hypnosis and meditation as my guiding lights.
When women have access to wisdom and knowledge, are able to make informed choices and are safely supported, strong mothers are created. And this world needs strong, empowered mothers.
Birth, motherhood and matrescence are rites of passage that require our conscious attention, preparation and honouring.
Yoga can help you feel calm, centered and prepared for the birth that you want.
Let me show you the way!
Hi, I’m ali kennedy.
I have been practising and teaching yoga for 10 years and it has been a big part of my motherhood journey since my first son was born in 2014. Prenatal yoga was a practice I adopted early on and is something I am really passionate about. It has so many benefits for women, physically, emotionally and spiritually and all these benefits get passed on to baby - magic!
The practice of yoga gave me such a strong sense of trust in myself, my body and my baby. All three of my births were empowering, intuitive and full of joy.
When I hear of women having disempowering and traumatic birth experiences it breaks my heart - this is not how it is meant to be. Women need support and to feel safe in birth, they need to be informed and have their choices respected.
Birth is awesome! It is raw, intense, ecstatic, it is also slow, hard work and can take many paths. And no matter how birth unfolds, women need to be at the center, they need to be listened to and supported. So much work needs to be done systematically, culturally and in the medical system. As a culture and society we need to remember that birth is a normal physiological function of the body, it does not need to be messed with so much or feared so greatly. We need to learn to honour women’s power, women need education on the path to birth, they need encouragement to lean in to the sensations and experience, tap into their intuition and work with it, and ultimately, women need support and to feel safe.
